And........ he's back!

I originally intended to publish this last Sunday and thought I had, but found it sitting amongst the drafts. So here, belatedly, is my return to active service post. Enjoy

Hi! Remember me? (But then, who could forget?)  OK, it's only been 11 days, but it seems so much longer. At this point, let me officially announce that, instead of issuing continual apologies, my blog will now be published on an irregular, unpredictable, and downright capricious basis. If Skinner was right about random reward psychology, this may result in more fans, especially of the fanatically devoted type. I've always been one to appreciate fanatical devotion, but I digress...

Where to begin... how about with some out and about shots. Now that Northern Virginia has done doing a convincing imitation of the surface of Venus, it is possible to walk around outside without perishing from the heat.
yes, they're repainting the house, and I am happy to report it will remain pink
I never realized how narrow this set of houses were

The Things You Find

On one of my excursions, I went down to the marina at Dyke March--I confess my choice of locale was heavily influenced by the the abundant shade in the area. The sun was hot and bright, something I never liked even as a child. Some days I swear I'm part bat 🦇🦇🦇 but, yet again, I digress.

One if the peculiar things about me (out of a long list) is that I tend to be curiously observant about things, except when they're obvious. Obvious things can fly right past me without notice, but the slight quirk or unexpected detail and I'm on it like a hawk on a field mouse. So I was delighted to explore a visual bonanza of rather commonplace objects down at the marina that I found quite intriguing visually. To be all fancy, I'm passing them off as objets trouvés.
Oh, and here's my latest Dada/Expressionist work:

Take AIM

Here at the condo, there is a long standing art group: Art In Montebello (AIM) composed of amateur and professional artists who live in the complex. AIM, as you might already know, is currently co-chaired by David, who is doing a splendid job-if I do say so myself-putting on gallery shows, exhibits, and suchlike. The current show is called "Explosion of Color" and has some really great pieces. I've been wanting to do at least one post of a show, but I always seem  never to get to it, arrive at the community just after the show has been taken down, or some other act of dunderheadedness. But just this passed (or would it be "past") Sunday, I finally succeeded. Enjoy!  🐹

Happy Star Trek Day!!!

On this day in 1966, Star Trek debuted, and though no one knew it at the time, a legend and cultural institution was born.  Live long and prosper y'all.

What Has Gotten into Me?

Dang! I've gone inert again lately. It's not like I'm overwhelmed with pressing duties or anything, unless you call cleaning the kitchen counters a pressing duty. I did think I might have some electrical cord rearranging to do in the living room, but then realized I simply hadn't pressed the right button on the remote. I always have had a thing for remote controls, but apparently many others do as well these days: TV, cable, stereo, lighting, electrical sockets... it's becoming a bit much even for me. But I digress. Here's some funnies to make up for my blogging negligence...
