I have been quite the stay-at-home slug of late. This is not good for my physical or mental health, so I decided to scrap whatever it was I had planned yesterday and go for a nice walk. It's been a while since I posted Old Town pics, so now I am pleased to present Old Town in all its raging summer protuberance. Enjoy! (And yes, it's my favorite walking neighbo[u]rhood yet again.)

on Grains
Above is breakfast, cold oats which I put together yesterday and popped into the 'frig overnight. I am eternally grateful to Mitchell of https://movingwithmitchell.com/ for having put me on to this. I can eat this stuff any time of day, for any meal, snack, etc. For as long as I can remember, grains have been my favorite thing to eat, most especially oats. Even as a very wee hamster I remember relishing oatmeal (porridge), farina, Malt O' Meal, Cream of Wheat (those last 2 are American brand names), etc. My favorite cookie is oatmeal raisin--chocolate chips leave me cold--and the raisins are a stupendoius attraction. I pretty much also love anything with raisins in it; so put them together with oatmeal and you have the cookie God eats. (I have studied theology and I know this to be a fact.) This love also extends to grain products, most especially good breads, most especially especially oat breads.
Why this is so I haven't a clue. Why oats in particular bring me to the heights of ecstasy I don't know. I've been this way as long as I can remember. David finds this among the weirder aspects of my peculiar existence.
