Dig-Out Day, or an Attempt Thereof

So HamsterFans, it's dig-out day here in the nation's capital. Our conservatory is high enough so as to afford a nice perch to watch the attempts. Apparently there is an ice layer in with the snow, which affords a greater challenge--especially for those who have no idea what they're doing in the first place. Twice we've seen people banging against windshields  or car bodies with the blunt end of a snow scraper--likely not a recommended procedure in their owner's manuals. A few cars made it half way out of their parking spaces, only to be abandoned in the attempt. Some poor souls are out there for a second day, with about as much luck.

Some very clever folk put plastic sheets over their vehicles, apparently not knowing how much snow weighs, or perhaps intending just to wait for a thaw? Haven't seen any go to their cars yet...

  1. "Struggles With Vehicles in Wintertime" must be the latest spectator sport for hamsters. Do you eat popcorn during the show?

  3. Watching can be quite amusing. It will take a few days for things to start to get back to normal, SNAFU.
